It Has Been A While

So, it has been a while since I have updated my blog. And, someone who shall remain anonymous (uh-hmmm) emailed me this morning saying:"I see you have not been posting much!! What's up with that?" Well, what is up is that I have been burning the candle at both ends and in the middle (as this friend likes to say)!

So, here is a quick update. My classes are going well thus far. I have had one exam in my physiological psych class that I spent two weeks preparing and studying for. I think I did okay on it. And, now I have another one in three weeks. Way too quickly and a ton of material to learn. The most frustrating part of it is that some of the material is not in our very basic book. So, I end up doing a lot of research on the internet to see if I can figure out what he is asking for.

My one day of work a week is great! I love it. It is a long drive but very worth it. The atmosphere in the office is fun and we have a good time while getting our work done. Couldn't ask for a better place to be!

My practicum is not going that well. I think it is more because I am worried about the agreement made with the school than the site itself regarding how many face-to-face hours I will receive each week. Clients do not show up for their appointments. So, I am supposed to get 6+ hours of face-to-face contact per week according to the school and I have had 2 hours total in a month's time. What are ya gonna do? I can't force these kids to show up. But, the lady at school will just say it is my responsibility to have enough client contact hours. We all think she needs to get back into the real world and understand what it is like versus being in "academialand". Plus, she runs the training department like a prison (which is her background). It is joyous (lots of sarcasm in that last sentence). Unfortunately there isn't much we can do but try to go along with things and not make too many waves with her since she has the final say as to wether or not we graduate. And, I am soooo ready to graduate. Senioritis has set in early!

I met two friends for dinner last night. We always have such a good time. It had been way too long since we had gotten together. So, we made an agreement that we would make every effort to get together once a month. Our next gathering will be a girl's night in with a couple of bottles of wine. That should be hysterical!

I am heading to NC today. I can't wait. I am flying in to Raleigh. I will go to a meeting about going to London for mission work with the youth group from my church back home this coming summer. Hopefully it will work out for me to be a part of the group. Then I am getting a much needed haircut. A couple of us will then drive to Hendersonville for the weekend for a conference. This place is awesome. I will fly back here on Monday to begin the whole stressed-out life again. At least I will have a relaxing weekend.

So, I am off to get a little paperwork finished before I meet with my supervisor and then finish packing to get out of this rat race. Hope everyone has a great weekend! I know I will.
