My Trip Home

My trip home was great! It seems like I am able to relax the minute I hit Raleigh. It is just such a different way of life from here in the DC metro area. And, although Raleigh is the capital and a fairly large city, it is much more laid back.

My mom and I went to see March of the Penguins on Thursday night. What a great movie. I read that the men who did the filming of the penguins lived on Antarctica for a year. I can't even imagine having to deal with the weather conditions on the coldest and darkest continent on earth. If you haven't seen the movie, I say GO!

I was able to see two friends that I had not seen since I moved away two years ago. It was great to be able to catch up. I also spent time with two friends that I had worked with before leaving. It was the birthday celebration for one of them. We went to Bahama Breeze for dinner and some drinking. Afterward we went to my mom's for Apricot Nectar cake and homemade Lemon Sorbet. It was a really fun night.

I can't wait to return to live in NC. I miss it! But I have two more years of school before I can try and get back there. The plan is to apply to internship sites in the Raleigh area and here. And, that will determine when I will return to NC.
