Flower Bed Invasion

My flower bed around one of my trees has been invaded. I planted hostas around a holly tree over a year ago. And, last summer they did really well. Even this summer they had done very well. But, they have been invaded...the deer finally found them. All but two of them are now nubs.

I never see the deer in the neighborhood. My neighbors are always telling me about them. In the three years that I have lived here, I think I have seen two deer...one in a neighbors yard and one that had been hit by a car on the next street over. I know that there is a huge population of deer in the national park next to my neighborhood. You can drive down the main rode and see about ten of them standing along the edge of the road in the evenings .
