Reflections on the Weekend
This past weekend went well. I had a date scheduled for Saturday. When he called on Thursday, we realized that we both had Friday off and made arrangements to meet. We met on the National Mall. I was concerned about figuring out who he was in a crowd of people based on seeing a picture only. But, I knew immediately that it was him. We first went to the sculpture garden. Then on to lunch and the modern art side of the Art Gallery. We sat on the Mall for hours talking. And, neither of us wanted the date to end and decided to spend more time together. So, all in all, it went very well. And, we are planning to see each other again this next weekend.
Saturday was a dreary day with rain most of the day. So, I spent time working on a school project and watching three movies. I watched two documentaries: Daughter from Danang and Lost Boys of Sudan. They were both very interesting and gave incredible information on cultural differences. I would recommend both. I also watched Something the Lord Made. It was about Vivien Thomas, a black man who helped develop cardiac surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. This film was also good.
Yesterday I heard from the guy who I had had a date with on Friday saying that he wanted to see me again and asked about the weekend. I also went to a birthday party for a friend at her parents' home. They live on the Patuxent River which is a beautiful setting. Her mom is Peruvian and loves to entertain and had a wonderful party. It was fun. I was going to try and work on my project when I got home but lost motivation.
