I Don't Get It...

I was sitting at my kitchen table this afternoon and looked out as an SUV passed by. I was appalled at what I saw. The driver had an infant in their lap. It looked as though the infant was right up next to the window. I don't get what some people are thinking! Have they not heard of a car seat? That is just so dangerous. I know they were in the neighborhood, but I have always heard that most accidents occur within a mile from your home. (None of mine ever did though!)

I worked as a placement social worker in NC for a while and had to learn all the rules of traveling with a child. I think MD is similar based on some ads I have been hearing. No child under the age of 13 should ride in the front seat. Children up to age 8 should be in a car or booster seat based on their age and weight.

I am just stunned, appalled, and shocked at seeing this happen.
