Holiday Weekend

So, a quick update for the holiday weekend. Friday night was a study group meeting and dinner. I know what some of you are thinking..."why study on a Friday night?" Well, our comprehensive exam will be here in just a couple of weeks. Saturday I went to lunch and did some shopping with a friend before heading to a party in DC that a couple of our friends were hosting. On Sunday, I went to see a friend in Ellicott City. We went into the historic district to eat lunch and shop. Oh my was it hot!!!! I was drenched when we were finished. We went back to her place to cool off before heading to Columbia to shop and see a movie. We saw The Devil Wears Prada. I enjoyed it. I had a couple of appointments yesterday and just relaxed afterwards.

For today, the 4th, I had my study group again. We went over a few things for a while. Then we had dinner, a couple of drinks and went to watch the fireworks. We walked about 10 blocks to a high school where we sat on the hill to watch. Lots of kids were shooting off fireworks from the basketball court. There were a few close calls including a friend and I getting burned by embers from one of them. And, the clouds from the fireworks on The Mall lingered to the point we couldn't see them after a while. We still had a good time. Even ran a block back toward the house for the heck of it. Well, one of my friends is trying to join the Air Force and needs to get in shape. Not sure why tonight was the night to start, but it was. It was quite funny!! Okay, off to bed. I have to work tomorrow.
