Follow-up on the Eye Exam

I went back to the Optometrist today for a follow-up. I told her my crazy story and she was shocked. She said that the company, for some reason, has a tendency to package more than one contact in a package for trial contacts. However, most people catch it before putting them in their eyes. I didn't. I have never had more than one contact in a package in all the years that I have worn contacts. I have had a package without a contact. So, it appears that the contact was not in my eye for however long. That is a relief (wiping my brow). She reassured me she would have seen one in my eye if it had previously been there and told me a story of checking one lady that had three on top of each other without realizing it! (Freaky Friday the 13th?!) She gave me an extra trial pair and I will be sure to make sure there aren't two or more contacts in a package.
