Happy 2006!
Can you believe it? 2006 is upon us. Wow. The last year has seemed to fly by. School has kept me busy for most of it. This past year has been bittersweet. A relationship ended and I lost one of my beloved pets, Abi. I have made new friends and maintained other friendships.
So, this weekend has been a lot of fun. Friday I went outlet shopping with four friends in Queenstown, MD. We had a good time and found a few bargains. I now know where to go to buy my dress pants for work...still expensive, but better than department stores. And, when you have a butt and thighs, one must resign themselves to pay for clothing that fits. I have finally come to that point in my life. Will designers ever realize that not all people are stick thin and have no butts or thighs?! I doubt it...not while low rise pants are in style anyway.
After a day of shopping, I headed over to my neighbor's house for a night of Texas Hold 'Em. I didn't play. There was supposed to be ten people and I would have made 11. One man didn't show, so I could have cashed in. Oh well. I saved my $20 and had fun watching.
New Year's Eve was spent with a couple of friends. We went to Clyde's for dinner in DC. Afterward, we headed to the Irish Channel. We initially thought is was going to be dead. But, it became crowded and we had a great time drinking and dancing in the new year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my friends and family. Here's hoping this is the best year to come and that our health and happiness will be maintained!!
