Christmas Weekend

Friday night I went to a friend's party and had an awesome time. There were about 30 people there. Great food and beverages. Unfortunately, the karaoke machine wasn't working. That would have been a hoot to see.

Saturday morning (Christmas eve) I headed to Raleigh with my dog Frisco to be with my mom for Christmas. Erie, my mom's cat, ran and hid upstairs after we arrived. He obviously didn't like to see a big four legged creature come into his home. Little did he realize, Frisco likes cats and would never hurt him. One of my friends came over and we headed to Chili's for our first annual Christmas eve dinner with my mom. Our waiter, Kevin (don't usually put names in here, but we didn't want to forget), was a hoot!!! There was lots of laughter. We had so much fun that we decided we had to do this annually. Mom and I went to church for the Christmas eve service. Other than the use of incense, it was very nice.

Christmas morning was a lazy one. Mom and I ate breakfast, opened gifts and lounged around for a bit. Around lunch time, we headed to the hospital to see a friend. She seemed to be in good spirits despite being in the hospital for Christmas. It was great to see her. Erie continued to be freaked out by my dog, refusing to come downstairs. My ex-boyfriend, now a friend, came over to get his mail. He played with Frisco for a bit and we had a nice conversation. Friends from church came over for Christmas dinner. Frisco was an angel and laid on his bed the entire time we ate dinner. I had planned to put him in his crate but he went to his bed and stayed there.

Most of Monday was spent being lazy. I worked on Sudoku puzzles, played with Frisco and watched some television. Mom and I went to the mall late in the afternoon. Nothing too exciting. I thought the sales would be better than they were for the day after Christmas.

Today, I loaded up my stuff and Frisco and headed for home. The ride wasn't too bad. I veered from my normal path to avoid some traffic at the Wilson Memorial Bridge. I would have hit it at about 3:30 or 4...that is when traffic begins to back up around there. The other route wasn't too bad. It was nice to see my cats. However, I am just hoping they don't act to crazy during the night since I have been away.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate). Mine was nice and relaxing.
