Thanksgiving in NC

I am in NC spending Thanksgiving with my mom. I arrived Wednesday afternoon. Luckily the traffic wasn't too horrible on the trip down. I only hit one major slowdown. That, surprisingly, was on I-85 where I don't typically have any problems. They had the interstate down to one lane. After my arrival, my mom was making comments about how slick the driveway was with all the leaves that had fallen. But, it was dark out and nothing got done. I hung out and watched TV. Well, after a rather stressful phone conversation with my ex...that is another story.

Thanksgiving Day: I helped my mom hang the Christmas lights on the gazebo in her backyard, pull some greenery for a church project, and...raked those leaves so my mom wouldn't slip and fall on her driveway. I can't come take care of her if anything happened since I am in school. That afternoon we went to a friends home for the celebration dinner. We had a great time! It was a lot of fun and the food was awesome. I completely stuffed myself. We even sang "row, row, row your boat"! Yes, there was a reason for that one...children in the house. It was very fun and there is talk of making it a tradition. With one added aspect...congealed salads. That came about through reminiscing about the good ole' days when we congealed salads were made on a regular basis. Can't say I really miss them! Mom and I came home and watched some television before heading to bed at a reasonable hour.

I will add more as the weekend continues. Now I am off to study before meeting a friend for an afternoon of shopping.
