Homecoming

This past weekend was great! I got to see quite a few friends I had not seen in 9 or 10 years.

Friday: I traveled to Charlotte where one of those friends picked me up at the airport. We grabbed a bite to eat and headed to UNC Charlotte for my friend to attend a meeting. Early evening we headed out to Clinton, SC. That night, we met a former professor and his wife for dinner. It was super nice to catch up, and the meal was great. We went back to the hotel and went to bed.

Saturday: We got up and headed over to PC to see some of our old professors. That was really neat to do. A lot of them look exactly the same. Some were a little more gray. Then we headed out to the fraternity houses to tailgate. Many asked where I had been the last 10 years. But, it seemed like yesterday that we had seen each other last. A couple of us went to dinner at the Mexican restaurant and then headed back out to the fraternity houses for the evening. A lot of the houses had bands and barbecues going on. When we were in school, we would have stayed out half the night. Not this time! We left before 12:30 am to go back to the hotel. Unfortunately, sleep wasn't in the picture. Two of the guys decided a fart contest would be fun most of the night. It was funny for a while, other than the smell.

Sunday: We got up and hit the road back to Charlotte. We stopped on the way back to eat lunch at California Dreaming. Then made our way to Charlotte. We hung out at my friend's house until it was time to head to the airport. I left Charlotte and arrived at BWI on time. Found my car, hit Walmart on the way home, unloaded the car when I got home, and hit the bed.

It was a great time! I enjoyed seeing everyone again. I sure hope that I don't wait another 10 years to go back and see folks.
