Physical Therapy Update
Good news from PT today. I have reached my goal in range of motion with aggressive movement...130 degrees. Passively I am at 125. So, I should be at the goal on my own soon!!
We added several exercises this week to help strengthen my leg and I have been increasing resistance and time on some of the exercises. So, I am moving along!!
We added several exercises this week to help strengthen my leg and I have been increasing resistance and time on some of the exercises. So, I am moving along!!
- Treadmill: increase of incline, time, and speed both forwards and backwards
- Bicycle: increase in resistance (minus 5 minutes today with the increase in two levels of resistance, will add time again next week)
- Weight machine: leg curls (50 times at 20 lbs) and extensions (one set of 10 at 20 lbs and one of 10 at 10 lbs - more painful than the curls) added today
- Side stepping: added resistance and repetitions
- Stool Scoots: used only the bad leg today for all five repetitions (last time had to use both legs on one repetition)
- Squats: did two sets of 15 (last time did one set of 20)
No changes in the other exercises. But, I did a lot of extra stuff today and am proud of my ability to move forward and push myself enough to be doing this well.
