Reality is Hitting Home
Yes, the reality of my upcoming surgery is hitting home. I have spent quite a bit of time today on the phone with the hospital and the doctor's office regarding Tuesday. I also went by the doctor's office to have the paperwork completed for a temporary handicap placard. Then I made my way to the MVA, stood in line for about 20 minutes, and received the placard. Yikes, it is really real. And, just a few days away.
The good news is that I will receive general anesthesia. Otherwise, I would likely pass out on them. After all, I get queasy just telling others what will be done. So, I will say it here and hope to continue to desensitize myself...yeah right...they will graft my patella, the patella tendon, and some from the bone underneath to replace my ACL. Not sure what will happen with the meniscus until they go in and examine it during the surgery. Wow, I didn't get too queasy thinking about it. That is good.
My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 am at Doctor's Community Hospital. It will last from 1.5 hours to 2 hours. I will be home that afternoon or early evening if all goes well. Not sure that I will be writing that night but will try to keep this updated some. TRY!!
