Better or Worse?!

Well, I know I am getting better when I can get in and out of the shower on my own, in and out of the car on my own, and in and out of bed on my own. This has all taken place in the last day or two. Before, I had to have my mom help me to lift my leg and it still hurt a great deal. So, I feel better that I am able to do that. I am also able to bend my knee (not on its own) to about 65 degrees. The goal is 90 degrees by May 7th when I go back to see the orthopedic surgeon. I am also supposed to be able to lift my leg from a sitting position...good luck on that one. I keep trying but can only raise it once in a while on its own.

For worse? Well, I have been giving myself injections in my stomach twice a day since I left the hospital. My stomach is really sore now and one spot has bruised quite a bit with a hard lump underneath. It seems to be looking worse than it did the other day. I have to say that needles do not bother me, but I am tired of them in my stomach and tired of them in my arms every few days for blood level checks. I will have to find out how much longer I will be giving myself these injections and have that one spot checked out.

I can honestly say that the blood clot has been worse than the surgery itself. I can't wait to be back to normal again.
