The Absurd

Tonight on my way home from work, I saw the absurd. An SUV went flying past me. All I could see was four small screens and a large screen playing a video of some sort. The larger one had to be about 20" plus. The smaller ones looked to be on the back of seats. Just absurd. (Sorry if I am about to offend my friends who have children...) I think we use the television too often these days as a babysitter for "our" children. And, to then put them in the car too?! I can see having one for a long trip, but just for normal commutes, NO. Whatever happened to talking to our children and playing road games? Whatever happened to having our children play outside rather than watching television or playing video games all day? And, we wonder why we have an "epidemic" of attention problems, nasty attitudes and obscene language usage, obesity in children, and other processing difficulties. It seems like kids today need to be stimulated externally rather than finding their creative side to stimulate the mind. I will jump off my soap box for now. But, I reserve the right to always jump back on when needed! ;-)

Yaaay! I knew you were a good mom!! I just don't get it. I definitely see the repurcussions of the "television" generation as I like to call them in practice. Gosh.
