Easter Weekend
I wasn't feeling good last Thursday night and wasn't sure I would get to travel home to see my mom for Easter. I got up Friday morning and still wasn't completely sure. But, I managed to get in the car and make it to Raleigh in time to meet some friends for lunch at 518 West. I love that place. I had whole wheat fettucini with chicken in a cream sauce that was awesome.
That evening, my mom, a friend, and I went to the Blue Note in Cary for dinner and to hear Will Scruggs play jazz. He is a friend from church. It was a great dinner (beef tenderloin with potatoes, melted tomatoes, and goat cheese for me) and the music was wonderful. If you click on his name you will be taken to his website. He has one CD out and another in the works.
Saturday morning was somewhat lazy. We left around 11 to take my taxes to the post office and then we were off to Zebulon for a church picnic at a historic plantation. It was 90 degrees with a nice breeze. It was hot in the sun but comfortable in the shade. Afterward, Mom and I took a few tours in some new townhomes and then headed home. We hung out and had a calm afternoon. I then went to meet a couple of friends for a drink. It was great to hang out with them.
Sunday was church. And, who should walk in and sit behind me?! My ex-husband. I don't think he had darkened the doors of the church since we separated. He had a girl with him and seemed ok. But, it was very strange to see him (it had been since we separated for good). I also wonder why he would choose to attend my church when there are a ton of churches in the Raleigh area. Seems a bit strange. But, it is a free world. A group of us went to lunch and then I headed back to MD.
