A Good Friday Evening/Night

One of my friends came over after she got off work. We were supposed to go play Bunco at another friend's house, but we had a storm that knocked out power at her house yesterday. So, it was cancelled. We were going to do some school work and finish watching season one of Grey's Anatomy. Well, another friend called and wanted us to meet her out in Bethesda. Reluctantly we headed in that direction. We ended up having a blast. We hung out at one place that a former Redskin owns (South Beach Restaurant) and then went to the Bottom Dog for some dancing. It was so much fun...despite knowing that I needed to write a paper.

Towards the end of our time together, one of our friends realized that in less than a year we will all be across the country and won't be able to go out like we did tonight. I think that will be tough on all of us. Hopefully we will be able to plan a mini vacation every year where we all get together. I think two of my friends are having a harder time with it than I am. They are ten years younger than me and haven't moved around like I have. But, it will be a sad day when we all head off in different directions regardless of where we all end up.

And, I had a call from the guy I am interested in. So, it looks like we might have that second date on Tuesday evening. It will have to be a short one since we both have to work the next day. But, nevertheless, it will be nice to spend time together. He told me he would ask me to come there tonight but knew that I had to work on a paper. And, I had all intentions of doing so. (But, we see how that turned out.) And, he (unsolicited) told me he wasn't "cat-ing around." So, I guess that means he isn't seeing anyone else. We shall see what happens. But, I have to say it lifted my spirits about things a little. I was definitely hoping it wasn't going to follow the pattern of others that I have gone on a date with. Keeping fingers crossed!
